I'm Laura Carlson, the owner of Good Graces Grooming. My experience in Animal Health, Safety, and Welfare spans over 40 years. I have worked professionally in veterinary medicine, investigated cruelty, neglect, and abuse cases for the State of RI and also traveled the country as a Certified Animal Safety Representative in the Film and TV Unit at American Humane - No Animals Were Harmed™.

 

In 2011 I founded Tails To Teach, a nonprofit organization providing social-emotional learning (SEL) programs in RI's underserved urban schools.Tails To Teach (www.tailstoteach.org) works with therapy dogs in schools to provide children with a pathway to practice kindness, show compassion, and feel empathy.

 

After moving to Jamestown, I decided to put all of my animal experience to good use and open a dog grooming shop right here in town. I have thoroughly enjoyed making many new friends on the Island and meeting their wonderful dogs!
